Meal deal promotions are triggered by a specific combination of items being purchased. For example, a starter & main course for £15.
Note: Unlike standard promotions, meal deals will trigger even if the items that make up the meal deal are added to a tab in separate orders. This means for a starter, main course & dessert deal, a customer could order their dessert separately, and still receive the meal deal.
Before you set up a meal deal promotion, you will need to set up option sets to represent each category of product that needs to be selected to trigger the meal deal. So, for the starter & main course example, you will need to set up one option set for your starters and one for your main courses (that are eligible for the promotion). To set up option sets see Creating option sets.
Then to set up your meal deal promotion, add the promotion as usual and select Meal deal from the type dropdown.
Select the Reporting category you would like to assign the discounts from the promotion to and then press Done.
Scroll down to promotion conditions and enter the fixed price for your meal deal.
Scroll back up and click on the Assign option sets tab.
Note: If your meal deal is promotion is only available certain times you can add these times on the Availability tab, just like for a standard promotion.
Select the option sets that customers need to select from to receive the meal deal promotion.
Note: Customers will need to select at least one product from each option set. If you would like customers to be able to pick between different numbers of options e.g. 2 courses or 3 courses, set these up as separate meal deal promotions. The system will automatically pick the best meal deal for the items on the customers order (or tab).
Under Assigned option sets, enter a quantity next to each for how many items a customer needs to select from this option set. For the starter & main course example you would leave this as 1.
When you've finished, press Done, then press Sync changes to make the the meal deal available on your EPOS.
