Tap to pay - falling back to a connected card reader

Tap to Pay on iPhone should work for most customer credit and debit cards. However if you can't take a card payment via tap to pay (for example, if the customer card is not supported), you can fall back to using a connected card reader.


To do this, press the CARD READER button on the PAY screen.


Note: If you have any custom payment types set up, you will need to press the ellipsis (...) button to access the payment type dropdown menu.



If there is a card reader connected, the amount will be sent to the card reader for you to take payment as normal. If there is no card reader connected you will be prompted to connect one.
