You can set courses against products in the Back Office to indicate to the kitchen when to prepare each item.
If you use a kitchen printer, courses will be printed with a line separating them.
If you use a kitchen screen, the ticket status will apply to one course at a time, so once the starters are prepared and collected, these will be crossed out and the ticket will remain on the screen to track the preparation of the mains. For more on using course with a kitchen screen see Processing kitchen orders with courses.
On the Back Office, click on ‘Products’ and then 'Food' so that you can see all of your food categories.
To change the course that applies to the products in a category, click on the ‘Edit’ button that is located on the bottom of the button.
In this example, we’ve chosen the ‘Desserts’ category. The course number specifies which course the products in the category will be treated as. As desserts would be served after starters and mains, these would usually be set as course 3.
Now press ‘Sync Changes’ to send your changes to your EPOS so that desserts will be treated as course 3. If you need to you can still override a course on your EPOS.
