You can choose to preauthorise a customers card when you open a tab for them. In this way you can ensure the card is valid and has available funds. In the event that the customer leaves the venue without paying their bill you will be able to charge their card from the preauthorisation.
Note: Preauthorisation may require an update to your Dojo card terminals and integration set up. Please contact us via your support channel, or contact your Dojo rep, if you would like to preauthorise cards.
To preauthorise a customer's card, press the white Pre-Auth Card button while on the New Tab screen.
Then press Authorise card.
The card will be pre-authorised for the initial amount that was configured when you were set up for pre-auths.
Note: This amount will be updated as items are added to the tab, so the pre-auth will always cover you for the amount spent.
If the pre-auth completes successfully, you will be taken through the pre-auth transactions journey, finalising with a screen indicating that the Capture has been successful. Click the green Done button to return to the summary screen.
In the summary screen on your EPOS, you will see a yellow card icon that will appear alongside the tab to denote that a pre-authorisation is logged against that specific tab.
You can now add items to this tab as with any other.
Note: When items are added to the order, once they exceed the pre-authorised amount, the pre-authorisation will refresh to ensure the card has sufficient funds.
Now see pay the tab using the pre auth
