Including cancel link in SMS messages

If you have set up SMS notifications, your customers can cancel their confirmed bookings via SMS confirmations or reminders, helping you to reduce no shows & enabling you to re-book tables when customers can no longer make their booking.


Note: Before adding cancellation links to your SMS notifications you should configure the text that will be displayed to customer's on the cancellation page see - Include cancel link in booking emails


To include a cancellation link in your SMS messages, go into your back office & select Bookings > Booking widget setup.



From the Booking widget set up, click the SMS notifications tab.



Using the SMS formatting language at the top of the SMS notifications screen, copy the tag :booking_cancellation_link into the desired SMS field.


Cancellation links can be useful on:

  • Booking confirmation & modification SMS to the customer
  • Booking reminder SMS to the customer



Click the blue Save button, at the bottom of the screen.



Your customers will now be able to cancel their bookings via their SMS notifications. You can see here how a customer would cancel their booking from an SMS or email notification.
