Making it easy for customers to cancel a bookings can help reduce no shows and enable you to re-book tables when customers can no longer make their booking. To make it easy for customers to cancel a booking, you can add a cancel button to the bottom of booking confirmation and reminder emails.
To enable booking cancellations for customers, go into your back office & select Bookings > Booking widget setup.
From the Booking widget setup screen, select the tab Other settings.
In the Other settings screen, locate the setting for Allow customers to cancel bookings. Toggle this setting to On. When toggled to on, further fields will open up, allowing you to tailor your cancellation form.
In the Field configuration section, you can tailor your cancellation labels, titles & text.
- Label - The label displayed next to the input field
- Title - The title of the field
- Text - A description of the action
Once you have tailored your cancellation form, click the blue Save button, in the bottom right of the screen.
To ensure you can re-use tables even for same day cancellations, you may also want to enable EPOS notifications for booking cancellations.
